'They don't know us': Springfield Haitian community prepares for Trump Presidency

Springfield, Ohio, made national headlines in September 2024 when Donald Trump accused Haitian immigrants in the town of eating local residents' pets.

Three days later, Trump promised mass deportations in Springfield if elected. In the weeks following Trump's election on Nov. 5, 2024, Haitian community leader Rose-Thamar Joseph is preparing for the consequences of his policy plans, and working to bridge the gap between Haitians and Americans in the Western Ohio city.
